SOLAR PANEL REBATE
Upto 50% RebateSolar Victoria is providing a rebate of up to $2,225 for solar panel (PV) system installation, for homeowners and rental properties. To further reduce installation costs, householders can apply for an interest-free loan, for an amount equivalent to their rebate amount. The loan is required to be repaid over four years.
Solar Victoria is also making it even easier to take up solar, introducing a new, more efficient system for applications.
For customers that means understanding the Solar Homes Program eligibility criteria and then contacting an authorised solar provider for a quote.
Evergreen Solar Power will then upload your quote to the Solar Victoria Portal (the Portal), which will trigger the online process for your eligibility assessment. Once this is done, all you will need to do is upload proof of income and a Rates notice to confirm your details.
Once it’s confirmed that you are eligible, Evergreen Solar Power will claim the rebate on your behalf and deduct the rebate amount from the total cost of your system.
You will then pay the outstanding balance directly to us once your solar is installed.
EligibilityVictorian households are eligible to receive a rebate for installing a solar PV system if they meet the following criteria:
Once you’re confident that your property fits the eligibility criteria, you should start researching solar retailers who are authorised to participate in the Program and can meet your energy needs.
- they are the owner-occupier of the property
- the owners have a combined household taxable income of less than $180,000 per year (based on last year's Australian Tax Office Notice of Assessment)
- it is an existing property, valued at under $3 million
- they do not have an existing solar PV system*
Obtain A QuoteSolar Victoria updated the rebate process to make it even easier for Victorians to take up solar. Before you sign a contract for the installation of solar panels, you should be sure that you understand the process and eligibility criteria. Once you have researched and identified the authorised solar retailer you want to use – contact them to obtain a quote.

The solar retailer will then upload your quote into the Solar Victoria Portal, triggering your application for eligibility. Once you have successfully completed this application via the portal you will be issued with an eligibility number. You must then provide this number to your installer as it will confirm that they can go ahead with your installation. Without this eligibility number, the installation cannot proceed.
Apply For RebateSolar Victoria do not recommend signing a quote acceptance or paying a deposit prior to receiving your rebate eligibility confirmation. As a minimum you should confirm with your retailer that any deposit is fully refundable. If you are confirmed as eligible, Solar Victoria will provide you a unique eligibility code that must be scanned by your installer in order to proceed with your installation. APPLY FOR REBATE
